This is for the people who hesitate when asked where they are from. This is for those who have learned to call foreign lands as their home and people of different nationalities as their friends. This is for those who have found the feeling of home in their family, their friends and their memories, rather than in a geographical location. This is for the global nomads... like me.
We are privileged with a lifestyle that is irreplaceable. We have witnessed countless beauties that the world can offer. We have fallen in-love with different countries. We are indeed privileged, but oftentimes lost. If we felt at home in one country, does that make our home less of a home than our current one? And as we have learned to adapt to various cultures, which culture do we truly belong in? Everywhere we go, it is as though we are always foreigners who feel unsettled as we constantly need to change ourselves in order to fit into our new home.
Our rootlessness causes us to be restless in search of a place where we can belong. We are then stuck in an endless cycle of packing and unpacking, as we are compelled to continue travelling in hopes of discovering our home, our true culture and our own identity. We have become global nomads.
